Assembly of Steel Structures

All work must be preceded by the preparation of a steel structure assembly project. The project contains necessary permits and approvals, site preparation design, and the final method for connecting elements of the given structure. As a proven manufacturer of steel structures, we are fully aware of this. There are several basic methods for assembling steel structures and halls: from individual elements, block method, stream method, and sliding method. Importantly, the assembly is always carried out based on the drawings contained in the execution project. The drawings provide the precise location of each element, the levels of column foundations, and height coordinates of the load-bearing beams. One must not forget the size, length, and class of bolts. If there are spring connections, it is the designer's task to determine the tightening force of the bolt, which must be applied using a torque wrench. Each assembly ends with the installation of the casing, which serves not only to give the structure appropriate aesthetic qualities but also thermal insulation properties.

Health and Safety in the Assembly of Steel Structures

All assembly work involves risks for individuals actively participating in it. Importantly, the danger also applies to all persons nearby. This makes health and safety particularly important on construction sites and during all assembly work. Detailed rules and standards are included in the Safety and Health Protection Plan (BIOZ). Among the main factors to pay attention to during assembly are:

• each qualified worker must have the necessary health classifications (including permits to work at heights) and current training in health and safety;
• the equipment used must have the required certificates and be fully operational;
• every lift should be preceded by a test lift to a height of half a meter;
• it is good practice to assemble elements into larger groups at the storage site to minimize the risk of falling on people;
• lifting elements whose weight exceeds the permissible nominal load is prohibited;
• performing assembly work over people, over the work area of other teams, and during wind speeds exceeding 10m/s is forbidden;
• leaving an element suspended during breaks and after the completion of all work is prohibited;
• elements of the structure can only be released from suspension when they are securely fixed in the target location.
